We do more than teach the basic principles of the swing at Westwood Plateau Golf Academy, we teach you how to use your swing to play the game. Our state-of-the-art facilities are one of a kind available anywhere and the Academy has established learning and training stations designed to re-create every real situation found in the game.

Our programming and curriculum formats have been developed to match your individual needs and goals, then by using the learning and training stations you can begin to create success patterns under actual playing conditions. Regardless of golf experience when this approach is applied, skill development is more enjoyable and therefore more productive.

Westwood Plateau Golf Academy Learning System

The learning curve is a phenomenon talked about in many endeavors, but in golf the shape of learning process is more like a spiral. In the center of the spiral is the heart & soul of the Swing; the Plane.

This is our basis for teaching and for the students learning. On the rungs of the spiral the other six key aspects of the swing are positioned and since all golfers have different physical and mental make-up it is impossible to deliver the same methodology to all golfers, so it always remains relative.

However, regardless of the level of golfer the same spiral learning system can be used for every golf lesson, and as you progress with students they will be continuously re-visiting the key aspects; each time coming at it from a more advanced level. Professionals and advanced players are on the same spiral but at a much higher rung. When it comes to working on their swing it focuses on the same aspects but at that point it’s about fine tuning not raw learning.

The spiral learning system is very effective because it reshapes rather than re-builds the golf swing keeping the instruction personalized and allowing the students to improve both their good shots and ‘mishits’ as a result. It is my belief that all golf instruction should involve these key aspects to develop the best swing motion suited to the physical and mental make-up of the individual.
